House fire prompts heavy emergency response in Sterling neighborhood – WJLA

Firefighters are on the scene of a house fire in Sterling, Virginia, that prompted a large emergency response on Sunday afternoon.

According to Loudoun County Fire and Rescue (LCFRS), crews were called to the 20400 block of Broad Run Drive for reports of a residential fire.

When units arrived, they encountered heavy fire and smoke conditions coming from the roof of the home.

Officials said they requested a Rapid Intervention Task Force and a Tanker Task Force to help with operations, signaling a significant fire response.

Authorities advised residents to expect a large public safety presence in the area as crews work to knock down the blaze. People are also urged to avoid the area to allow first responders to operate safely.

There is no word of any injuries or what may have caused the fire. The investigation remains ongoing.
