Ikea announces plans for Madison store at former Bed Bath & Beyond location – Channel 3000

MADISON, Wis. — Madison will soon be saying “hej” to Ikea.
The furniture giant announced plans Thursday to bring a new store to the Prairie Towne Center at 215 Junction Rd., which formerly housed Bed Bath & Beyond. The store will be the chain’s second in the state, joining the Oak Creek location that opened in early 2018.
“Opening a new location in Madison is part of our continued commitment to reaching customers where they are, making well-designed, affordable home furnishing solutions more accessible and convenient than ever before,” interim CEO Rob Olson said.
The 54,000 square-foot Madison store will feature fully-furnished room settings with over 5,000 products on display. The store will also house Ikea’s Swedish deli, serving foods including Swedish meatballs, hot dogs and falafel balls.
The franchise expects to open the new store this fall.
