Netflix has announced plans for a new live-action series centered around the iconic character Scooby-Doo, officially titled “Scooby-Doo: Origins.” Production for the show is currently underway in Atlanta, with a premiere date slated for 2027. The series seeks to reinvigorate the beloved franchise for a modern audience while maintaining the essence of the original cartoon.

In an early promotional clip shared on social media, viewers are introduced to Scooby-Doo as he explores a wooded area in proximity to a summer camp. He ultimately encounters his future companion, Shaggy, setting the stage for their dynamic relationship that fans have come to love.

The cast of “Scooby-Doo: Origins” includes Maxwell Jenkins as Fred Jones, Tanner Hagen stepping into the role of Norville “Shaggy” Rogers, Abby Ryder Fortson portraying Velma Dinkley, and Mckenna Grace as Daphne Blake. In addition, actor Paul Walter Hauser is expected to feature in an undisclosed role.

The narrative follows a reimagined storyline where friends Shaggy and Daphne, during their final summer at camp, become embroiled in a chilling mystery involving a lost Great Dane puppy who may have witnessed a supernatural crime.
