Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles 1.5.0 update released, introducing New Game+ and additional features
Square Enix has officially rolled out a significant update for its acclaimed title, Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles, elevating the game to version 1.5.0. The update is now available for players on both the Nintendo Switch and the newly released Nintendo Switch 2, promising an enhanced gaming experience.
Among the most notable features introduced in this update is the New Game+ mode. This allows players to commence a new adventure while retaining unit levels, item data, and other progress from a previously completed playthrough. Additionally, a Zodiac Compatibility function has been added, enabling users to check the zodiac sign of their characters and their compatibility directly from the status screen.
This update also brings a variety of adjustments designed to improve the overall gameplay experience. Notably, players can now check the status of a unit when selecting a tile for movement or targeting an ability. The game’s Equipment & Abilities section now includes an option for “Remove All Equipment,” streamlining device management. Furthermore, the conditions required to unlock various jobs are displayed more clearly, aiding player navigation.
The user interface enhancements extend to battle settings, as camera angles and zoom levels will now be preserved throughout the duration of a battle, adding a layer of consistency to the in-game experience.
New settings have also been introduced that cater to player preferences. The “Maintain Auto-proceed” option during cutscenes allows for a seamless narrative flow, while the “Ability Incantations Guaranteed” ensures that dialogue accompanying ability use is consistently heard. The “Ability Cursor Memory” setting enhances menu navigation by retaining the cursor’s position in the Abilities section during battles, further streamlining the user interface.
In an effort to better cater to a global audience, the latest version also adds support for new languages, including Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Korean. Players can adjust their text language preference through the General Settings menu.
Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles continues to build on its rich legacy with this update, confirming the developer’s commitment to enhancing the player experience. The game is currently available on both the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 platforms.
