Google ends Tenor GIF search integration in third-party apps

The company announced that it ceased accepting new API integrations and requests as of January 13, leading up to this definitive shutdown.
As of June 30, Google asserts that all API agreements and integrations with Tenor will be fully decommissioned. Discord has begun testing new options, such as Giphy and Klipy, in response to the changes, while WhatsApp is reportedly working to replace Tenor with Klipy.

Following Meta’s acquisition attempt of Giphy in 2020—which was blocked due to concerns over competition—Tenor has been recognized as a significant provider.
