New Exodites Rules for Warhammer 40,000 Now Released

The Exodite cavalry wing’s operational framework is fundamentally anchored by a unit known as the Dragon Knights. These cavalry warriors ride drakesteeds, employing advanced laser lances that allow them to execute precise and devastating assaults on their adversaries. With the speed and resilience provided by their scaled mounts, the Dragon Knights are adept at executing charges that break through enemy lines. After inflicting significant damage, they are capable of regrouping to launch successive assaults, ensuring their tactical advantage on the battlefield.

One of the distinguishing features of the Dragon Knights is their laser lances, which deliver a consistent three damage per strike. This capacity renders them a formidable threat to elite military units, such as Terminators and Crisis Battlesuits, as well as opposing cavalry units. However, the design of their large oval bases could present complications under the new edition’s close combat rules, particularly in confined environments. The Exodites, adept at maneuvering, mitigate this risk through their remarkable speed and a unique skill called Agile Reach, which augments their close combat effectiveness.

In addition to the core cavalry unit, the Exodite Dragon Masters kill team diversifies its strategy by including three operatives who function independently rather than as a single unit. The Clanblade, for example, serves as a powerful leader for Dragon Knight teams, enhancing their attack capabilities through the Sustained Hits 1 ability. Concurrently, the Stonesinger operates as a support character, providing strategic advantages by impeding enemy movements through an Elemental Ensnarement skill that restricts their ability to advance.

Another notable operative is the Leystalker, who operates independently with the Lone Operative ability. This tactical role allows the Leystalker to engage enemies from a distance with precise rifle shots, creating confusion among opposing forces and adversely affecting their morale when they cannot pinpoint the source of danger.

The new Exodite roster will be available for pre-order this weekend with the planned release of the Kill Team: Exodite box. Future standalone releases will follow, accompanied by updates to the rules and points, which will be reflected in the Warhammer 40,000 app and on the Warhammer Community downloads page in the upcoming weeks.
