Street Fighter 6 DLC character Arjun to launch on October 13
Capcom has officially announced the upcoming release of Arjun, a new downloadable content (DLC) character, for Street Fighter 6. Scheduled to launch on October 13, this character enriches the ongoing narrative of the franchise while expanding gameplay capabilities for players.
Arjun’s backstory is gripping, portraying him as a former police officer in India whose life took a tragic turn following the murder of his partner—a crime for which he was unjustly accused. Now on the run, Arjun is committed to uncovering the truth behind his partner’s death. This narrative depth adds layers to gameplay, as players navigate the complexities of his character and capabilities.
In terms of combat mechanics, Arjun specializes in a unique blend of offensive and defensive strategies that leverage his Yoga Breathing techniques. His fighting style is designed to deliver powerful strikes, enhancing gameplay by allowing players to deal recoverable damage, even after their attacks are blocked. His abilities include a variety of techniques:
– Arm of Justice: A versatile punch that drains energy from opponents, offering different attack strength variations.
– Cruel Shoulder: A forward tackle with dynamic properties based on the attack’s strength.
– Breathing Ring: A projectile attack that can be launched at different angles.
– Divine Pillar: An earth-raising technique that can be delayed for strategic advantage.
– Justice Beyond: A unique interaction between his abilities that allows for tactical play against opponents.
Arjun features several Super Arts, including Howling Destruction, Instant Oblivion, and Yaksha’s Order, each showcasing dramatic animation and powerful strikes that can significantly alter the course of a match.
Players can access Arjun through the Year 4 Character Pass or the Year 4 Ultimate Pass, with two distinct outfits signifying different stages in his quest for justice. The character is the second addition to the Year 4 roster, following the release of Yasmine, with additional characters such as Tifa from the Final Fantasy VII Remake series and Bosch expected to join the lineup.
Street Fighter 6 is currently available on multiple platforms including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC, continuing Capcom’s legacy in the competitive fighting game genre.
