As part of its promotional strategy, the game will be playable at the Tokyo Game Show 2026, scheduled for September 17 to 21 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan.

The development team is notable, including prominent figures such as Hajime Tabata, renowned for directing Final Fantasy XV, along with Masahiro Yuki, who co-produced and crafted the narrative for the original Lollipop Chainsaw. Another contributor to the project, NekoshowguN, is responsible for the concept art of the main character in the original game. This lineup suggests a continuation of the established quality and creative vision that fans have come to expect from the franchise.

Lollipop Chainsaw 2 Back2Back reintroduces Juliet, now equipped with updated abilities and a new outfit, as she navigates a familiar yet distinctly altered world. The storyline involves Juliet being ensnared by a mysterious director within a warped zombie film, necessitating her alliance with friends to unravel the ensuing chaos and counteract the threats posed by zombies from the Corrupted Realm.

To commemorate this announcement, the original title, Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP, is currently available at a discount of up to 45 percent across various digital platforms. The promotional sale for Xbox Series and Xbox One runs until October 15, while a Steam sale will conclude on September 30. Sales on platforms for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Switch, and GOG will follow in due course.
