“Dancing With the Stars” Disney Night Delivers Perfect Scores and Group Dances as Another Celebrity Eliminated
The latest episode of the popular dance competition show, “Dancing With the Stars,” featured an enchanting Disney Night that drew inspiration from beloved Disney films and their theatrical adaptations. This special installment showcased performances that paid homage to iconic stories such as “Mary Poppins,” “The Little Mermaid,” “Tangled,” and “Beauty and the Beast.” The event was characterized by vibrant choreography and elaborate costumes, allowing the couples to bring the magic of Disney to life on the dance floor.
Co-hosts Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough contributed to the excitement by participating in the team dances, further engaging the audience. Guest judging duties were fulfilled by the acclaimed actress and singer Cynthia Erivo, who brought her insights to the performances of the contestants.
As the episode concluded, a significant elimination took place, with Julia Stiles and her partner Ezra Sosa exiting the competition. The pair performed a paso doble to “Satisfied” from the groundbreaking musical “Hamilton,” receiving a commendable score of 33 out of 40. Despite the noteworthy performance, their scores were not enough to secure their place in the ongoing competition.
Among the remaining contestants, Tatyana Ali, Jenna Dewan, Ezra Frech, Amber Glenn, Maura Higgins, Harry Shum Jr., and Connor Wood continue to vie for the title in Season 35. During the show, it was revealed that the couple achieving the highest score following the individual performances would receive immunity from elimination in the upcoming dance-off. Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson captured this honor with a flawless jazz routine to “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” from “Mary Poppins,” achieving a perfect score of 40.
Notably, Jenna Dewan and Val Chmerkovskiy matched this perfect score with their quickstep performance to the classic song “Be Our Guest” from “Beauty and the Beast.” As both couples tied at the top, the immunity was awarded to Harry and Jenna based on their cumulative scores throughout the season, with Harry and Jenna’s total standing at 236 against Jenna and Val’s 235.
The episode maintained its traditional voting format, where viewers were permitted to cast up to ten votes per couple. Votes can be cast via ABC’s website and through text during the live broadcast. Live voting is open for a brief period after the final performance, allowing fans from different time zones to engage with the show.
This captivating episode underscored the blend of entertainment and artistry that “Dancing With the Stars” consistently delivers, engaging its audience while celebrating the rich tapestry of Disney storytelling.
