3 Colorado Powerball tickets win big; jackpot soars to $1.7B – 9News

Three tickets in Colorado won a total of $200,000 in Monday’s drawing. Here’s where the tickets were sold.

DENVER — No won matched all the numbers in Monday night’s Powerball drawing, but three lucky players in Colorado came awfully close.

The Powerball jackpot has now climbed to $1.7 billion. There were nine tickets nationwide that each won $1 million or more. Tickets in Florida, Georgia, Illinois, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Wisconsin won $1 million by correctly matching all five white ball numbers.

In Colorado, three tickets matched four white ball numbers and the Powerball. One of those was a Power Play ticket that won $100,000, and the other two won $50,000 each.

The $100,000 ticket was sold at the Loaf N Jug located at 6140 E. Crossroads Blvd. in Loveland.

The two $50,000 tickets were sold at a Colorado Springs King Soopers, 7915 Constitution Ave.; and Players Cafe in Lakewood, 1050 S. Wadsworth Blvd.

The current jackpot has been rolling since Sept. 6, when two winners beat odds of 1 in 292.2 million.

If someone wins Wednesday night’s drawing, the cash value totals $781.3 million.

The current jackpot is now the fourth largest in the game’s history, with the next drawing on Wednesday, Dec. 24.

This year has produced three major Powerball wins: the $1.8 billion September prize, a $526.5 million jackpot claimed in California in March and a $328.5 million prize won in Oregon in January.
