My favorite sleep method

So far, I’ve been sharing deals and buying advice, but I also think it’s important to advocate good sleep hygiene.

There are plenty of tips out there to improve your sleep hygiene, from creating a relaxing sleep space to practicing meditation. However, the tip that’s stuck with me (and actually works) is the 10-3-2-1 Method.

This method involves ditching coffee 10 hours before bed, stop eating or drinking at around three hours before bed, stop finishing after-hours work at least two hours before bed, and ditch using electronic devices (yes, that includes your phone) at least one hour before bed.

Give it a try, and see what you think!

3 quick reasons why I reccomend investing in any Saatva mattress

I’ve been on the testing panel for Saatva’s best mattress, but there are plenty of reasons to buy pretty much any bed from Saatva (and not just the Classic). Here’s why a Saatva mattress makes a great investment (and it’s not just because you can get $400 off any orders over $1,000 at Saatva)…

  1. They’re fiberglass-free
Saatva crafts its mattresses from premium, organic, and hypoallergenic materials, so this means there are no nasty chemicals present in any of its designs — which means all Saatva beds are fiberglass-free mattresses.
  2. You get an entire year to decide whether it’s worth the investment
If you’re worried you will have spent a luxury penny on a mattress you don’t end up liking, then not to worry; Saatva offers a year-long sleep trial that allows you to literally sleep on your purchase for 365 nights before deciding whether you want to keep or return.
  3. You get free white glove delivery
A delivery team will not only deliver and set up your new Saatva mattress in your room of choice, they’ll also remove your current mattress…all for free!

Our favorite cooling topper goes from $249 to $200 to $188

Molecule CopperWell Mattress Topper close up design

The CopperWELL Topper is the best cooling option in our best mattress toppers guide, which is why I was excited to see a discount code that could save you up to $55 on the mattress topper, reducing a queen to $199.99 (was $249.99).

However, a new discount code has appeared, and you can now buy a queen CopperWELL Topper for $187.45 with code BF2025 at Molecule. This is a great deal on a mattress topper that’s rarely ever on sale (I haven’t spotted any other discounts on it this year), so I’d snap it up while it’s still up to $70 off.

I sleep on a cheap memory foam mattress every night…here’s what I think of it

Budget-friendly memory foam mattresses have a bit of a reputation for being unsupportive, uncomfortable, and stuffy.

However, many cheaper all-foam beds are starting to prove the snobs of the mattress world wrong. (Have we mentioned that the Siena Signature Mattress is awesome? I think we already have.) And one such affordable memory foam bed is the EGOHOME Black 12″ Mattress.

I’ve been sleeping on this mattress for six months now, and its great support and comfort still surprises me especially since I ditched my luxury hybrid mattress to sleep on its much cheaper design.

It has great support for all sleep positions (I sleep on my back and side, and it’s great for back sleeping especially) and you can sleep right up to the edges without feeling as if you’re about to roll off. You can read more about its performance in my EGOHOME Black 12″ Memory Foam Mattress review

And the good news is that you can now get an extra 20% off Black 12″ Memory Foam with code BFCM2025 at Saatva, reducing a queen to $296 (was $699).

You can also buy the Hybrid version of the Black 12″ for $352 in a queen with code BFCM2025 at EGOHOME, it’s a little more expensive than the memory foam version, but the inclusion of springs means it sleeps cooler.

Right, as I’ve pointed out many time before, Saatva’s mattress toppers are never included in Saatva’s many sale events…or so I thought.

Okay, okay, so its bestselling Graphite Memory Foam Mattress Topper isn’t on sale, and neither is the High-Density Foam Mattress Topper (which we rate as 2025’s best luxury mattress topper in our best mattress toppers guide). But there is one Saatva mattress topper that has snuck its way into the $400 off any orders over $1,000 sale at Saatva, even if only in one size.

Right now, you can save $400 on a king-size Organic Quilted Mattress Topper at Saatva, taking the size down to $895 from $1,295.

While I would have lowed to see a discount on all of the luxury bran’s bed toppers, at least we get to see money off at least one of the premium bed-boosters.

best mattress topper: Lucid 4-inch Gel Memory Foam

My first deal! Get the best cheap mattress topper of 2025 for even cheaper

As Jim so kindly pointed out earlier (thanks Jim!), I’m pretty much the mattress topper expert around these parts so of course the first deal I’m going to spotlight today is a mattress topper discount. I am so predictable.

But this Black Friday mattress topper deal really is too much of a bargain to ignore. Right now, Lucid has upgraded their early access up-to-25% off sale to a limited-time up-to-35% off sale.

This means you can buy the 4″ Lucid Gel Memory Foam Mattress Topper for as low as $56.24 at Lucid, with a queen 4″ topper down from $119.99 to $89.99.

Plus, there are thinner versions to choose from (pick either a 2″ or 3″ height) which are even cheaper. (A queen 2″ topper is now down to $52.49.) However, we tested the 4″ version in our Lucid Gel Memory Foam Mattress Topper review, and we thought it provided beautifully plush comfort for side sleepers who need to soften a hard mattress.

Benefits include a 30-night sleep trial, a three-year warranty, and free shipping — pretty great extras when you consider the low price.

Looking for a 5-star sleep experience?

A hand rests on the surface of the Saatva Contour5 Mattress, testing the pressure relief

I’m pretty sure that the the best sleep I’ve ever had was at a 5-star luxury hotel, and while the two Michelin-starred tasting menu and accompanying wine flight may have played a small part in this, the main reason was the outrageously comfortable and luxurious mattress I got to sleep on.

Hotel beds are a wonderful thing, and while part of that’s down to the fact that they’re always freshly-made with clean sheets when you clamber into them, it also helps that they prioritize plush comfort and a just-right feel.

Today I’ve been checking over and publishing our brand new guide to the best hotel mattresses – that is, beds that deliver a luxury hotel-like feel – and I’m sure it won’t be any surprise to anyone that our perennial favorite, the Saatva Classic, can be found a the top of the list.

However there’s another surprise Saatva entry in our rankings, and it’s one that’s worth buying in the Black Friday mattress sales because, like the Classic, you can get it right now with $400 off all sizes…

Which mattresses offer the best pressure relief for side sleepers?

The image shows a woman wearing black dungarees lying on her side on the Helix Midnight Luxe mattress, which is placed on a white bedframe in a blue bedroom

Side sleeping puts pressure on the shoulders, hips and knees, so relief on those points is essential for a comfortable sleep.

That’s why pressure relief in the beds included in our best mattresses for side sleepers has to be excellent. Thanks to our updated mattress testing methodology, we carefully gauge pressure relief by performing weighted indentation and recovery tests, perform spinal alignment analysis, and get subjective feedback from our testers.

Ultimately, great pressure relief for side sleeping comes from soothing cushioning via comfort layers and balanced support to keep the spine aligned, either from denser foam layers or coils below. Because of that, a side sleeper mattress will generally need to feel more plush than ones intended to relieve pressure for back and stomach sleepers.

A great example is our No.1 mattress for side sleeping, the Helix Midnight Luxe, which scored 5/5 in pressure relief tests, our side sleeping lead tester said it provided “cloud-like comfort,” thanks to the Euro pillow top and responsive foam comfort layers, while the coil layer is part of what prevents you sinking too far into the bed.

The DreamCloud Classic Hybrid is a more affordable hybrid that has a similar feel to the Helix, we rated the pressure relief at 4 out of 5, thanks to cushioning softness for side-sleeping, but plenty of support from the coils.

That’s not to say there aren’t great all-foam side sleeping beds; the Nectar Premier Memory Foam and Zinus Green Tea Memory Foam both provide soft, cushioning comfort layers and dense support foams, though you’ll have more of the ‘sink in’ hug feel with the latter.

Here are our top Black Friday deals on side sleeping beds with great pressure relief :

I’m back! OK, let’s talk more about shopping at Amazon this Black Friday. With deals like $244 for a queen Siena Signature Memory Foam Mattress and the Hatch Restore 3 down to its lowest ever price, Amazon is the place to shop.

However, that’s not to say that certain considerations need to be taken into account when buying a mattress. Here’s a quick list of pros and cons:

Pros:

✅Cheap deals: You can often pay much less for a mattress on Amazon than if you were to buy it directly from the brand, even if it’s only on certain sizes.

✅Faster shipping: The Black Friday sales can cause an increase in demand, leading to shipping delays and back orders. Amazon, on the other hand, is known for their speedy delivery — a huge plus if you need a bed ASAP.

✅More options: Brands run out of stock or discontinue certain models when revamping their collections. Amazon gives you the chance to buy discontinued models and items that are sold out on the brand’s website.

Cons:

❌No sleep trials or warranties: The beauty of buying directly from a brand is that their benefits are clearly outlined, such as a sleep trial. While Amazon usually offers 90-100 day returns, they don’t always offer official sleep trials. Our advice? Check before buying.

❌Less reputable: While you can find plenty mattresses and bed toppers from reputable brands at Amazon (like Casper, DreamCloud, Nectar, etc), there are a lot of cheaper beds from less well known brands that you may be tempted by, but aren’t always the best quality. Plus, be aware of fake reviews and how to spot them.

Black Eight Sleep Pod 5 Ultra smart sleep system on bed in bedroom with big window looking out to greenery

I scout around for deals on the best smart beds often and honestly they are never very exciting. Built with state of the art technology, you can’t expect them to come cheap, after all.

That’s why I was pleasantly shocked to spot $700 off the Eight Sleep Pod 5 Ultra at Eight Sleep this Black Friday. We rarely see a discount like this role around at this high-tech sleep brand. Until now, even in the best Eight Sleep mattress sales peaked at around $150 off.

So, you could say I’m ecstatic to bring you this deal. I’ve slept on the Eight Sleep Pod 4 and got some of the best sleep of my life. Seriously, thanks to active temperature regulation and the vibration alarm, I was bagging 90+ sleep scores and waking up refreshed every single morning.

With upgraded tech and an adjustable bedbase thrown in, the Eight Sleep Pod 5 Ultra offers an even more luxury, customizable sleep experience. You can alter the position of your bed, get in-bed surround sound and automatic snoring mitigation.

And with that, I’m heading for some food and will be handing you back to Sleep Editor Nicola for the next round of sleep and mattress deals…

Get the coolest bed we’ve tested this year for its lowest price — plus free bedding

Our mattress tester jumping on the Bear Elite Hybrid mattress on a wooden bedframe with a rattan headboard in our sleep studio with blue walls and a bedside plant

Can you tell I’m excited to bring you this deal? (Image credit: Future)

Besides sleep tech, I also specialize in cooling mattresses. I’ve recently retested the Bear Elite Hybrid with Celliant under our new mattress testing methodology in our sleep lab and at home to see if they’re truly worth the crowns we award it in our mattress rankings (it does).

Coming out on top in our thermal regulation tests with 4.5 out of 5 stars, we’re confident in recommending the Bear Elite Hybrid mattress with Celliant as the best cooling mattress of 2025.

Packed with robust active cooling technology it is the bed we recommend to sleepers kept awake by night sweats and hot flashes.

Bear mattress sales are in full swing. Right now, our exclusive discount code TOMS40 cuts the Bear Elite to its lowest price of the year. This means you can snap up a queen size Elite Hybrid for $1,627.20 at Bear and get a free bedding bundle worth $320 completely free.

Trust me, this isn’t a deal to snooze on.

Ozlo Sleepbuds in silver circular case on blue and white patterned blanket

My bedroom is stacked with sleep tech, from trackers to smart mattress covers (more on these coming up). But my favorite gadget right now is the Ozlo Sleepbuds, which you can now get for $75 less at Ozlo — that means you can bag them for $274 rather than $349 and there’s more deals when you buy more than one pair.

I recently took them on a long-haul flight and bagged a solid five hours of sleep onboard, according to my Oura Ring (my travelling partner, Sleep Features Editor Lauren Jefferies, was rather envious).

The Ozlo Sleepbuds are so comfortable I hardly notice them in my ears, evening when laying on my side, and they do a grand job of blocking out ambient sound and replacing it with white noise or your sleep sound of choice thanks to Bluetooth connectivity. Binaural beats, anyone?

And Ozlo has recently teamed up with mediation app Calm to bring you a dedicated sleep app with 300 hours of snooze-inducing content. Sweet dreams!

Hello and Happy Black Friday!

Yes, that’s me donning five sleep trackers at once as I put them head to head to find the best one (psst, it’s the Oura Ring). (Image credit: Future)

It was only right for me to start with a post about my nighttime gadgets. Alongside Black Friday madness here at Tom’s Guide’s sleep desk, we’ve just launched out our brand new best sleep trackers buyer’s guide.

I’ve spent the best part of this year testing the best sleep trackers on the market from big brands like Oura, Apple, Whoop and Garmin. Many hours of sleeping and analysing data later, I’ve rounded up my favorite five.

In our handy shopping guide linked above, you can find all the information you need on trackers of all shapes and sizes, including trendy wearables, discreet sleep tracking mats and the first-of-its-kind armbands.

Of course, with Black Friday deals flowing, you can bag money off these devices now. Most notably, there’s now (a rare) $100 off the Oura Ring 4 at Oura and the Apple Watch 10 is down to its lowest ever price ($279) at Walmart — my jaw dropped too!

How to get the best deal on the most comfortable mattress I’ve ever slept on

The Tom's Guide Sleep Editor jumping on a Helix mattress with a Tom's Guide Black Friday Mattress Deals badge overlaid

I’ve helped test some of the best mattresses you can buy, but there’s one in particular that stands out for due to its pressure relieving support for side sleepers like me – the Helix Midnight Luxe.

The Luxe is the mattress I tested and was reluctant to actually hand back, thanks to its luxurious build, plush body-cradling comfort across the hips, shoulder and knees. However, zoned lumbar support also makes it supremely supportive for my back, which means fewer nighttime awakenings due to pain.

Shopping directly at Helix today will get you 25% off. However, using the code TOMS27 at checkout unlocks a saving of 27% off the Helix Midnight Luxe at Helix Sleep. That brings a queen down to $1,751 from $2,398, which matches the lowest price we’ve tracked it this year.

Before I became a sleep editor, I gave very little thought to the quality of my pillow. I used the cheapest pillow I could find, stacking one on top of the other until I found a loft that caused me the least amount of pain.

Since upgrading my pillow, I can’t believe how much better I sleep. No more neck pain and no more waking up with headaches. Who knew a decent pillow could do so much? If you’re a side sleeper looking for a decent pillow deal, this is the one I’d buy today…

How often should you replace your mattress?

Experts generally recommend replacing your mattress every 6-10 years, but it’s a good idea to pay close attention to signs your mattress could need replacing sooner. Any dipping, sagging, rips or bulges are all string indications that you’re in dire need of a new mattress.

However, the quality of your sleep is the strongest indication of whether your mattress needs replacing or not. Even if it’s in perfect condition, your mattress will need to be replaced if it no longer supports you in getting good, quality sleep.

If your mattress is still in pretty good condition or your budget quite allows for a brand new mattress, a mattress topper could transform your current mattress’ comfort levels. The best mattress toppers can offer additional support, provide cooling temperature regulation, and even alter your current firmness level.

Buy a queen Zinus Green Tea mattress for $178 at Amazon

OK, so it’s not a brand new, but this deal is still definitely worth shouting about: the Zinus Green Tea Memory Foam Mattress is $178 for a queen at Amazon.

We rate this Zinus as one of the best memory foam mattresses you can buy, thanks to its deep pressure relief for side sleepers at a low price. The deal above is on a 10″ model, but it’s also available in a 6, 8 and 12″ depth. (We generally recommend a minimum bed depth of 10″ on an adult mattress).

As well as sink-in support for side sleepers, the Zinus is also great at minimizing motion across the surface of the mattress (that’s a big tick for restless sleepers who share a bed). However, as a budget all-foam mattress, it is prone to trapping a bit of heat. Plus, the support around the edge isn’t the best.

But if you’re looking for a comfortable mattress at under $200 for a queen, this could be a good fit…

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Amazon is shaping up to be the best place to buy some of our favorite budget-friendly mattresses at even lower prices. Saatva’s best deal returns — take $400 off all sizes

That brings a queen down to $1,739 from $2,139. The a great price on the best mattress we’ve ever tested, earning a near-perfect score.

The image shows a dark haired woman wearing a blue shirt and beige trousers placing her hands on the top of a cream and gold mattress, placed on a white bed frame in a neutrally decorated bedroom. On the top of the image a badge reads 'Tom's Guide Black Friday Mattress Deals'

There’s currently $400 off all sizes of Saatva mattresses over $1,000 in the Saatva Black Friday mattress sale, which is the biggest discount you can expect on the Classic. However, it’s especially good value on smaller sizes, which are usually exempt from the biggest discounts.

The Saatva Classic is a luxury hotel-style innerspring that comes in three firmness options and two different heights, making it suitable for practically all sleepers. Intrigued to know more? Check out our Saatva Classic mattress review.

Budget of under $700 for a queen? This is the deal I recommend

Testers inspect the newly unboxed DreamCloud Classic mattress, with a Tom's Guide Black Friday Mattress Deals badge overlaid

If you’re looking for a queen size mattress for under $700, there’s one deal in particular that I recommend: The DreamCloud Classic, $699 for a queen at DreamCloud. For that money you’ll get a top-quality hybrid mattress that we found most comfortable for side and back sleepers.

It comes with free shipping, 365 night sleep trial, and lifetime warranty. You’ll also get a free bedding bundle worth $500 thrown in — that’s incredible value for money.

Under $700 is what we would class as a mid-range mattress (which is anything from over $500 and under $1,000). $700 is still an incredibly healthy budget, though, and you’ll understandably want to get as much for your money as possible.

What we love about the DreamCloud Classic is how it rivals some mattresses that cost upwards of $1,000 more in some areas of performance, like motion isolation and edge support (both things of which are crucial to couples). Industry leading benefits, freebies, overall comfort and support make the DreamCloud Classic excellent value for money.

Hotel luxury for less this Black Friday? Yes please!

Westin Heavenly Bed in a suite

Jenny, one of our contributing sleep writers, is taking a winter break next week, and yes, she’s been telling us all about how she can’t wait to bask in the sunshine. As someone who will be spending the entire duration of winter here in the UK, I’m insanely jealous… but mostly because of the luxurious hotel bed she’ll undoubtedly be sleeping on.

If, like me, you’re dreaming of bringing hotel luxury into your own bedroom, I have a deal for you:

The Westin Heavenly bed has been giving guests a blissful sleep for more than two decades and it’s now you can buy the Westin Heavenly bed at the lowest price we’ve seen for Black Friday, starting at just $1,069 (was $1,645) for a twin. A queen is reduced to $1,621 (was $2,495).

OK, it’s still a premium buy, but 35% off is a fantastic discount on a bed that’s quite literally bringing the luxury of a hotel room into your home (delivery is extra).

We’re talking the plush cushioning from the Euro pillow top, cooling gel memory foam, plenty of support (that’s particularly good for back sleepers) from the individually wrapped coils and a luxurious amount of surface space to sleep on thanks to the reinforced edges.

We gave the Puffy Royal an overall rating of 4/5 stars in our Puffy Royal mattress review, where we rated this 10-layer premium mattress for it’s sink-in support that’s best suited to side and best sleepers. The inclusion of wool helps keep sleepers cool, white it’s coil construction helps keep the spine in healthy alignment.

5 quick tips for buying a new mattress in today’s Black Friday sales

A man with dark hair and a woman with red hair go mattress shopping together

1. Get familiar with your sleep position and needs

The number one rule to buying a new mattress, whether that’s during the Black Friday mattress sales or not, is to get clear on what your sleep needs are beforehand.

Do you like to sleep on your side, front, or back — or perhaps a combination of all three? Different mattresses have different firmness levels which cater to different sleep positions, so it pays to do a bit of homework first.

2. Only buy a new mattress if it has a long (enough) trial period

A mattress with a short trial period is not worth your investment. You need to be able to make your purchase safe in the knowledge that you can return it if it doesn’t suit your sleep needs.

Some of the best mattress brands — including Saatva, Emma, Nectar and DreamCloud — allow a trial period of up to 365 nights, so you can really be sure if it’s a mattress that supports your sleep.

3. Check the returns period and warranty

It’s important to get knowledgeable about your consumer rights before you buy your mattress, that way you’ll know if you’re protected against any damages or defects.

Most brands offer a warranty of at least 10 years, but some of the more trusted ones (again, such as Saatva, DreamCloud, Nectar and Helix) offer limited lifetime warranties.

4. Don’t be swayed by the discount alone

It can be hard to resist a brilliant bargain, but don’t be swayed by big discounts alone. A mattress is only worth your hard-earned cash if it is the right mattress for you.

Even the most expensive, high-end, mattress that has been heavily reduced will be worthless to you if it doesn’t support your sleep needs.

5. Make sure the firmness suits everyone

If you share your bed, you’ll have to take both of your sleep needs into consideration before buying a new bed. If you prefer a firm mattress but your partner prefers something a little more plush, a split king could be a good compromise.

As its name suggests, a split king will allow you each to have your own side of the bed that caters specifically to your sleep needs.

Purple has finally joined the party

So what’s changed overnight in the mattress deals landscape? You might have missed it but Purple has finally joined the party and launched a flash Black Friday sale.

You can now save up to $1,150 on a mattress + base bundles (compared to ‘just’ $800 off yesterday. As Alison, our resident mattress expert, flagged last night, that’s the biggest discount we’ve seen from Purple.

But with any tiered discount, the biggest deals are reserved on the biggest, most expensive mattresses when paired with an adjustable base. The Purple Restore Hybrid Collection is up to $650 off, which is a solid saving if you’ve had your eye on this premium mattress for a while…

So stick around, and I’ll be right back with the best deals for your budget and sleep needs. Let’s go!

Off to sleep I go…

2025-11-28T03:02:11.662Z

Wait — let me amend that last post…!

Purple just shook up its Black Friday sale — instead of offering up to $800 off its mattress + base bundles, it’s now up to $1,150 off. That’s the highest markdown I’ve ever seen from Purple. (The previous best-ever discount was $1,000 off in 2024.)

Now, I have to remind you that it’s up to $1,150 off. You’ll score the best savings when you a) choose one of Purple’s most premium beds (they’re $700 to $850 off); and b) add the adjustable base, which cuts up to another $350 off.

However, the deals are solid as you go through Purple’s entire lineup. The Purple Essential Collection is up to $350 off, while the Purple Restore Hybrid Collection is up to $650 off. Those are close to the best deals we’ve ever seen for those models.

All Purple mattresses come with free shipping, a 10-year warranty, and a 100-night trial.

The word analysis on a blue background

I know we haven’t quite reached Black Friday yet, but a lot of the sales I’m seeing thus far aren’t really anything new and exciting. That’s not to say they’re all bad, but if you were expecting anything different, you might be feeling a little disappointed so far.

However, three Black Friday mattress sales have caught my eye for offering something different from the norm — hopefully, more brands and retailers will follow suit:

This Helix mattress topper fixed my old, saggy futon — and now it’s 27% off

Helix ErgoAlign Mattress Topper on a full size futon mattress

(Image credit: Future / Alison Barretta)

I have an older futon mattress that’s not very supportive, but a certain mattress topper recently breathed some new life into it — so much that I preferred it over my regular bed for a while!

That would be the Helix ErgoAlign Mattress Topper, now 27% off with code TOMS27 in the Black Friday sales.

You can read my full review for more details, but here are three quick reasons why it’s worth buying the Helix ErgoAlign Mattress Topper over a totally new mattress this Black Friday…

✅ Exceptional lumbar support

✅ Effectively wicks away heat and moisture

✅ Accommodates combination sleepers

Black Friday Tempur-Pedic deals and promo codes

Tempur-Pedic offers $300 worth of accessories free with select mattress purchases for Black Friday. Just add qualifying items to your cart and apply code 300FREE to see the discount reflected at checkout.

Here’s why I think it’s the best value out of all the Black Friday mattress bundle deals right now…

You choose the freebies you want: Brands usually decide what to put in their gift bundles, but they may be items you neither want nor need. Here, you can pick the right products for your preferences, provided they qualify for the coupon.

You know the value of what you’re getting: In my humble opinion, the total value of most of these bundle deals is inflated. At least you’ll have a solid idea of each product’s actual worth with this Tempur-Pedic deal.

There’s a mattress discount baked in, too. Tempur-Pedic’s main lineup of beds rarely goes on sale. Receiving up to $500 off — plus $300 worth of free sleep accessories — makes this one of the best ways to bring home one of these luxury memory foam mattresses for less.

Leesa’s best-selling hybrid mattress is 30% off for Black Friday — but is it the deal for you?

Leesa Sapira Hybrid Mattress on a beige bedframe

(Image credit: 3Z Brands for Tom’s Guide)

The Leesa Black Friday Sale cuts 30% off sitewide, which is tied as the largest discount we’ve seen from the brand.

Notable is the Leesa Sapira Hybrid Mattress, now $1,399 for a queen (reg. $1,999). This is Leesa’s best-selling model, and we were quite fond of it in our Leesa Sapira Hybrid Mattress review. That said, an opportunity to snatch this mattress at this low of a price doesn’t come around all that often. (The evergreen discount is between 20%-25%.)

Now, don’t be swayed by the sale price alone. Here’s a quick rundown of who should (and shouldn’t) go for this Black Friday deal…

✅ Who we think it’s for: light to average-weight side sleepers, some back sleepers, couples, sleepers with joint pain (great pressure relief)

❌ Who we think it’s not for: stomach sleepers, heavier sleepers, hot sleepers (try the Leesa Sapira Hybrid Chill instead)

💜 What’s great about Leesa: all mattresses receive a lifetime warranty and come with a 120-night trial; Leesa is also known for its sustainable, socially-conscious practices

The holidays are a joyous time of year, but sleep often takes a back seat to parties, family obligations, and stressors. By the time January rolls around, you may feel like you need another two weeks to sleep off the festivities before you can properly function again.

Here are some quick tips on how to enjoy yourself without totally wrecking your rest over the next month…

  • Make sure you’re getting enough natural light: Even 30 minutes of outside time early in the day is enough to keep your circadian rhythm in sync. (Alternately, consider a sunrise alarm clock if winters are dreary in your area.)
  • Avoid rich meals late at night: If possible, try to serve your holiday dinners in the late afternoon or early evening so your body has enough time to digest before bedtime.
  • Remember that alcohol doesn’t help with sleep: If anything, it has the opposite effect. Drinking alcohol, especially late at night, will prevent you from falling into a deeper sleep. You can still enjoy that glass of wine with (an early) dinner, though.
  • Don’t forget to unwind: Even if your schedule is topsy-turvy, make time to leave the stresses of the day behind and follow a calming routine that’ll prime your body for sleep. This can include reading, stretching, listening to music, or taking a warm bath.

A woman sleeping on a pillow with neck ache

I stayed at a luxury hotel that had a lush, exquisite mattress…but the pillows were so flat and terrible that I woke up sore and cranky each morning. (I’ve resolved to travel with my own pillow from now on, that’s how much the experience scarred me.)

Perhaps you’re feeling the same way about your bed at home. It’s comfortable, but there’s just something off about the pillow.

Instead of toughing it out or rebuying the same (wrong-for-you) pillow, use Black Friday as a chance to upgrade to something that actually supports you properly.

Below are three Black Friday deals on some of my favorite pillows I’ve tried — and maybe they’ll work for you, too. Otherwise, visit our Sleep Concierge for a personalized pillow rec from one of our sleep experts.

Do you have to spend a lot for a mattress — even on Black Friday?

We share mattress deals across a spectrum of price ranges, but how much should you spend this Black Friday?

The boring (but honest) answer: it all depends on what you’re comfortable spending, which is why we always advise having a budget in place. I mean, the last thing you want is to lose sleep over how you’ll pay for your new mattress…

This year’s Black Friday sales feature some stellar deals on mattresses under $500 — and in my experience, budget beds are much more sophisticated than they were even just a decade ago.

That said, if you’re looking for your “forever” mattress — in other words, something you want to keep for at least a couple of years — it’s worth stretching your budget further.

Mattresses that hold their worth may be expensive up front, but they’re worth the investment because they’re built to last, and you’ll be replacing them less frequently. Cheap beds usually don’t last long with daily use.

Does that mean you have to go with a luxury mattress? Not quite. Even opting for a mid-range mattress will get you farther than a sub-$500 bed.

But if you’ve been following our sleep coverage long enough, you’ll know that price alone shouldn’t influence your purchase. You’ll need to know how to shop for a mattress according to your sleep preferences.

Tuft & Needle Mint Hybrid mattress deals

(Image credit: Tuft & Needle / Future)

The Tuft & Needle Black Friday sale features 35% off all mattresses. This is the largest percent-off discount I’ve ever seen from T&N. (It usually maxes out at 30%.)

If you’re looking for a side-sleeper-friendly hybrid that’s easy on the joints, I recommend the Tuft & Needle Hybrid Mint Mattress, now $1,296.75 for a queen. Regularly $1,995, that’s the lowest price I’ve tracked for it.

During our Tuft & Needle Hybrid Mattress review, my fellow testers and I agreed that this bed is super comfy for side sleeping, as it cradled our spines and alleviated pressure buildup in our shoulders, knees, and hips. (Our tester with a shoulder injury found much relief on this mattress.)

As the name suggests, the Mint Hybrid is a cooling model. In addition to its overall comfort, our testing panel most enjoyed how cool and comfortable it slept. I didn’t overheat on it once while sleeping on it during a hot summer.

Tuft & Needle sales are rare, and there’s no telling whether T&N will bring this 35% discount back any time soon. (I’ll hold out hope for Presidents’ Day 2026, but I won’t make any promises!) I’d say jump on this offer while you can.

If you stayed over in my guest room, you’d be sleeping on the DreamCloud Classic. This is one of my all-time favorite hybrid mattresses in a box and a huge hit with my family and friends.

One Tom's Guide tester lies on her back on the DreamCloud Classic inside a blue-painted bedroom while another gets into bed, lies on her side and then lies on her other side

It won’t provide the same luxury sleep experience as the Saatva Classic – very few mattresses do – but it will give you a big dollop of comfort and support for over $1,000 less.

As great as the DreamCloud Classic Hybrid is for most people, I did have two minor issues with it: firstly, I slept warm on it and spent a good portion of my nights kicking off the covers to cool down. I am a chronic hot sleeper, so the Saatva Classic and the Bear Elite Hybrid – our two top cooling mattresses – are better for me.

My other minor niggle was hip and thigh pressure. I definitely felt some when lying on my side, but Lauren Jefferies, our main tester for the DreamCloud, didn’t.

I have residual hip and lower back pain from pregnancy, and the only mattress I truly sleep comfortably on is the Saatva (read my Saatva Classic mattress review to learn why).

Ultimately, the DreamCloud is a lot of mattress for the money – or to use my early phrase, it delivers a lot of bang for your buck. It’s $699 for a queen in the Black Friday sale, and the deal is better than the one we see most months because it comes with up to $599 of free bedding.

Big sleep comfort, smaller price

This image shows the hands-on edge support testing. The Siena Memory Foam mattress on a bed frame sits in the center of a decorated room. Sleep writer Eve Davies sits on the foot of the Mattress. She's comfortable and shows no signs of sliding off.

When I first joined Tom’s Guide as Sleep Editor in 2021, budget-friendly mattresses were of a pretty low standard on the whole. Most of them were slabs of cheap memory foam, with little to no support and zero breathability.

Fast forward to the present day and the budget mattress market is remarkably different – lots of innovation from the luxury mattress market has trickled down to cheaper beds.

Never has this been more obvious than with the Siena Signature, an all-foam mattress that outperformed many premium rivals when we recently retested all the top options in our best mattress of the year guide.

The Siena excelled at motion isolation, even beating our number one pick the Saatva Classic, and it scored well in edge support and temperature regulation too.

It’s exceptional value for money at $244 for a queen size at Amazon, especially considering it comes with a 180-night trial and a 10-year warranty. You just don’t see those benefits often with a budget mattress.

We don’t recommend the Siena Signature to side sleepers – it’s way too firm for that – but we do recommend it to stomach and back sleepers, and to couples who love hard beds. One of the best value mattresses you’ll find on sale today.

My biggest piece of Black Friday shopping advice…

2025-11-27T19:57:59.022Z

Mouth tape: yea or nay?

Woman wearing black tape on mouth

If you have any kind of congestion, you risk not being able to breathe properly throughout the night. Not to mention the risk of vomiting with your mouth taped shut.

If you want to encourage nose breathing throughout the night and stop mouth breathing, I’d suggest trying nasal strips instead. These don’t block any airways, but instead gently pull the nasal passages open to increase airflow.

My personal favorites are the Breathe Right Extra Strength Nasal Strips which are down to $14.69 at Amazon (was $20.99).

OK, Tempur-Pedic just stepped up their Black Friday sale…

As long as you can afford it, Black Friday is an excellent time to buy a luxury mattress, as big discounts can bring premium beds within your budget. One of our favorite luxury mattress brands is Tempur-Pedic — and they’ve just stepped up their Black Friday game…

The Tempur-Pedic Tempur-Cloud mattress is crafted from its proprietary NASA-designed Tempur-Material, which is similar in feel and structure to memory foam. As a mattress that you sink into as opposed to sleep on top of, we found it came plenty of pressure relief. Unsurprisingly, that means it will hold on to a bit of heat (hot sleepers be warned).

As for the pillows, Senior Sleep Writer Ruth Jones tested them earlier this year and rates them highly for their support for stomach sleepers in particular. Check out her Tempur-Pedic Tempur-Cloud pillow review for more.

Saatva Classic vs Saatva Latex Hybrid: Which should you buy this Black Friday?

Alex, one of our experienced contributing mattress testers, recently had the chance to test the Latex Hybrid (check out her Saatva Latex Hybrid mattress review) and praised it for its breathable construction and all-round comfort. In fact, Alex described the Latex Hybrid as one of the most comfortable mattresses she’d ever slept on.

However, the Saatva Classic recently underwent a third (and in depth) round of re-testing, where it knocked our temperature regulation tests out of the park. In her Saatva Classic mattress review, Managing Editor Claire Davies, gave the Classic a score of 5/5 for temperature regulation, making it one of the best cooling mattresses you can buy.

The image shows the Saatva Latex Hybrid mattress on the left and the Saatva Classic mattress on the right in a side by side comparison

The Classic also comes in cheaper than the Latex Hybrid, with a queen costing $1,739 vs $2,149 for the Latex Hybrid. Both come with a 365 night sleep trial, lifetime warranty and free white glove delivery, which includes the removal of your old mattress too.

If you’re tossing up between the two this Thanksgiving, check out our helpful Saatva Classic vs Saatva Latex Hybrid comparison.

I can’t talk to you about Black Friday mattress deals without highlighting the current saving on the most comfortable mattress I’ve ever slept on; the Helix Midnight Luxe.

Right now, there 27% off the Midnight Luxe at Helix Sleep when you use the code TOMS27 at checkout. That beats the 25% general access sale and brings a queen down to $1,751.03 for a queen from $2,398.66.

I’m a bit disappointed that there’s no free bedding bundle thrown in with the Luxe for Black Friday, which we have seen during previous sales this year. That said, this deal matches the biggest dollar-off discount of the year, making it an excellent time to buy.

What can you expect? Cushioned pressure relief across the shoulders, hips and knees. You won’t get dead-hips or achy shoulders on this bed, which is why it’s our number one best mattress for side sleepers.

However, it’s also comfortable for back sleepers, too. Thanks to sturdy support code that prevents you from sinking into the mattress, as well as zoned lumbar support for those with back pain.

For more on why I love the Luxe, check out my Helix Midnight Luxe mattress review.

Is Amazon a good place to buy a mattress this Black Friday?

The short answer is, yes — Amazon is a good place to buy a mattress this Black Friday. What you can expect from Amazon are great deals on discontinued models from recognizable brands (like Zinus and Siena). Plus, cheap best sellers dropping even lower, like the Siena Memory Foam Mattress (now known as the Siena Signature), or the Zinus Green Tea Mattress.

My advice? Stick to brands you recognize and always read the warranty and sleep trial info. In most cases, Amazon now honor the brand’s warranty and sleep trial — but it’s certainly worth double checking.

Looking for a queen mattress under $300? The Siena is my top pick

Amazon is shaping up to be an excellent time to buy a budget-friendly mattress at an even lower price this Black Friday. Case in point: you can buy a queen Siena Memory Foam Mattress for $244 at Amazon. That’s the lowest price we’ve ever seen it, making it one of the stand out deals today.

It’s a firm mattress and won’t give you the ‘hug’ sensation you might expect from a memory foam mattress, but if you’re a back or stomach sleeper looking for a mattress that offers a keen blend of pressure relief and support, this is it. Is Amazon a good place to buy a new mattress, though? Here’s what I think…

How good are the deals this year?

Black Friday is hands down one of the best times to buy a new mattress, but how good are the deals on some of this year’s best beds compared to last year? Let’s take a look…

A collage of images showing the Tom's Guide expert mattress testing team trying the best mattresses of the year and searching for Black Friday mattress deals

Saatva Classic:
It’s the best mattress we’ve ever tested and right now the Saatva Classic is $400 off at Saatva. That matches last year’s discount but you will pay slightly more this year for a queen ($1,739 compared to $1,695) due to a slight MSRP increase. We don’t expect to see this saving to return until 2026.

Siena Signature Memory Foam Mattress:
You can buy a queen Siena Signature Memory Foam Mattress for $244 at Amazon. That’s $115 less than buying directly from Siena and the lowest price we’ve ever tracked.

Bear Elite Hybrid:

However, you won’t get the free bedding — so it’s a question of what’s bedding for you, spending $50 less or getting a load of free sleep gear?

Helix Midnight Luxe:
There’s 27% off the Helix Midnight at Helix Sleep with the Code TOMS27 A queen costs $1,751 from $2,798. That matches last year’s dollar-off discount, but missing the free bedding bundle we saw last Black Friday — boo.

I’m Nicola, I’m the Sleep Editor here at Tom’s Guide, and I’ll be kicking things off this morning, bringing you the best discounts, latest deals and shopping advice for anyone looking to buy a new mattress today.

This is my third year covering the Black Friday mattress sales and if I’ve learnt anything in that time it’s that you don’t have to wait for Black Friday itself to get the best price on a new bed. The Black Friday discounts have been trickling in all month, and we’re not expecting any last minute savings to suddenly drop tomorrow — so why wait?

If you’ve got a spare few minutes before you need to peel the potatoes or prep the turkey, stick around and I’ll bring you the best deals for every budget. Ready? Let’s dive in…
