Google Health has recently introduced version 5.02 of its app, further enhancing its commitment to improve user experience on both Android and iOS platforms. This update is now broadly accessible for iOS users, while the rollout for Android users continues.

The latest iteration of the application comes with several significant improvements organized into six main categories, focusing on usability, functionality, and overall engagement.

In the Today tab, users can now expand the focus metrics dashboard, allowing for a more comprehensive view of their health data without the need to navigate away. A new feature enables users to reorder their metrics more seamlessly, thereby customizing their dashboards to their liking.

For the Health tab, Android users benefit from the added convenience of drag-and-drop capabilities to rearrange key metrics, a feature that is expected to be implemented on iOS in a subsequent update.

The Sleep section of the app has also been enhanced. A new layout positions the Restlessness bar adjacent to the sleep stages graph, providing clearer insights into sleep patterns. The update also facilitates easier visibility of recorded naps on separate tabs within the daily Sleep Score view, though access remains exclusive to Android users for the time being. Users will also find it straightforward to delete and edit sleep sessions, addressing previous usability issues.

In the Fitness and Activity category, the reintroduction of Hourly Activity tracking will allow users to monitor their activity levels more effectively. This update includes fixes for previously reported bugs, ensuring that exercise summaries are more accurately represented.

The Nutrition segment has seen a speed improvement in search functionality on both platforms, along with enhancements allowing for explicit macronutrient estimations during food logging. Notably, the Nutrition tile on the Today tab now clearly represents calorie intake and remaining calorie counts.

Finally, management of logs synced from partner applications has become more user-friendly. Users can delete individual exercise sessions and food logs directly within the Google Health app, eliminating the need to access other platforms for such adjustments. Future updates will further simplify this process, allowing for deletions without impacting records on connected health applications.
