Grammy-Winning Singer-Songwriter Talay Riley Fatally Stabbed in London at Age 35
Talay Riley, the esteemed Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter, died in a stabbing incident in London on June 5. He was 35 years old. A media source confirmed that the news of his untimely demise was announced by the Metropolitan Police, which is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
Riley, born Mark Orabiyi, was discovered in the garden of a residential property in Silvertown, East London, following an emergency call made to paramedics. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead shortly after their arrival on the scene.

On that fateful morning, authorities arrested three individuals on suspicion of murder. The suspects included a 27-year-old man who has since been released on bail, as well as a 24-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman who were released without action.
Riley, a native of London born on July 10, 1990, began his career as a songwriter in 2009. During the years 2013 to 2015, he collaborated with numerous high-profile artists, including Usher, Nick Jonas, and Dua Lipa, contributing to their musical success. Notably, Britney Spears recorded his track “Clumsy” for her 2016 album “Glory,” and Dua Lipa featured Riley’s song “Last Dance” on her self-titled debut album.
Riley garnered critical acclaim for his artistry, earning a Grammy Award for his work on H.E.R.’s song “Lights On,” which appeared on her self-titled album that won multiple accolades. In addition to his success as a songwriter, Riley made a significant mark as a performer himself, achieving commercial success with his 2011 UK hit “Make You Mine” and touring alongside notable artists such as Usher and Trey Songz.
In a heartfelt statement released through the Metropolitan Police, Riley’s family expressed their deep sorrow over his loss, describing him as a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend.
