Light rain expected in Western and Eastern Cape; cooler temperatures forecasted for other regions

In Gauteng, conditions are expected to be partly cloudy in the morning, transitioning to mostly clear skies throughout the day. Temperatures in Pretoria will range from 9°C to 23°C, while Johannesburg will see slightly cooler temperatures from 7°C to 22°C. Vereeniging is forecasted to experience temperatures between 5°C and 22°C.
Further afield in Mpumalanga, morning fog is anticipated along the escarpment. The region will largely be fine and cool, with warmer conditions in the Lowveld and northern escarpment areas. Specifically, cities like Mbombela may reach a high of 27°C, while other locations such as Ermelo and Emalahleni will see temperatures in the low 20s.
Moving north to Limpopo, morning fog in southern regions is expected to clear, giving way to generally fine and warm weather. The province’s major cities, including Polokwane and Phalaborwa, will enjoy temperatures peaking at 26°C and 30°C, respectively.
In the North West province, weather conditions are projected to be consistently fine, ranging from 6°C in Vryburg to 25°C in Rustenburg. Similarly, the Free State will experience pleasant weather, with Bloemfontein reaching a maximum of 23°C.
The Northern Cape is expected to experience fine weather that could shift to partly cloudy in the evening. Upington and Kimberley are set to have temperatures between 9°C and 28°C, suggesting a warm day ahead, especially in the late afternoon.
In the Western Cape, residents should prepare for morning fog, followed by cloudy to partly cloudy conditions. Isolated showers may arise in the afternoon, primarily impacting the south-western sections. Cape Town will likely experience temperatures ranging from 14°C to 19°C.
The Eastern Cape may also see morning fog, followed by a mix of cloudy conditions and light rain towards the end of the day. Coastal areas are expected to have fluctuating winds, which will contribute to the changing weather patterns.
Lastly, KwaZulu-Natal is anticipated to maintain fine to partly cloudy conditions, with warmer temperatures rising to 28°C in Richards Bay, although it will be cooler in the south-west.
