Robert Kelker-Kelly, a prominent figure in the world of soap operas, passed away on Saturday at the age of 62. Known for his compelling performances in several acclaimed series, including “Days of Our Lives,” “General Hospital,” and “Another World,” Kelker-Kelly’s contributions to television earned him a devoted fan base over the decades.

The St. Peters Police Department reported that emergency personnel responded to an emergency call at Kelker-Kelly’s Missouri residence, where they found him unresponsive after he had complained of chest pain. Despite efforts to revive him, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of his death has not yet been made public.

Born on April 18, 1964, in Wichita, Kansas, Kelker-Kelly launched his acting career in 1987 with a role as Sam Fowler in “Another World.” He became a notable presence on the show, accumulating over 400 episodes during his tenure. After an initial exit in 1990, he returned to the series in 1996, taking on the role of Dr. Shane Roberts, also known as Bobby Reno.

Kelker-Kelly’s career trajectory continued to soar with a role on “Days of Our Lives” from 1992 to 1995, where he portrayed Bo Brady, a character known for his complex morality and transformation from a reckless bad boy to a principled police officer. His performance garnered critical acclaim, and he succeeded Peter Reckell, the original actor who embodied the role since 1983.

In addition to his work in daytime dramas, Kelker-Kelly portrayed the villainous Stavros Cassadine in both “General Hospital” and its spin-off, “Port Charles,” from 1997 to 2003, later reprising the role from 2013 to 2014. His portrayal of Cassandra left a significant mark on the series, showcasing his range as an actor. In 1995, he and actress Lisa Rinna won the Hottest Soap Couple award at the Soap Opera Digest Awards for their on-screen chemistry.

Over the years, Kelker-Kelly appeared in various television dramas, including “Jack’s Place,” “Touched by an Angel,” “Maybe This Time,” and “Rescue 77.” In 1994, he was honored with the Outstanding Lead Actor award at the Soap Opera Digest Awards for his work on “Days of Our Lives.”

Adding another dimension to his life, Kelker-Kelly was also a licensed pilot, demonstrating his diverse skill set beyond acting. His personal life included a marriage to Linda Rattner, which ended in divorce in 1992, followed by his second marriage to Miriam Parrish in 1997, which also concluded in divorce in 2013.
