Santa Fe jury reaches $375 million verdict against social media giant Meta – Santa Fe New Mexican
A Santa Fe County jury delivered a $375 million verdict Tuesday in a landmark case against the world’s largest social media company.
After deliberating for less than a day following a six-week trial in state District Court, jurors found Meta had violated a New Mexico consumer protection law by failing to protect children from sexual exploitation and to disclose the dangers associated with the use of its platforms.
New Mexico Attorney General Raúl Torrez hailed the verdict as a “historic victory for every child and family who has paid the price for Meta’s choice to put profits over kids’ safety.”

Linda Singer, an attorney representing the state who gave closing arguments, and Donald Migliori, an attorney with the law firm MotleyRice who provided the state’s opening arguments, celebrate after the jury reached a verdict against Meta for violating a state consumer protection law.
