Saronic Unveils Billion Texas Shipyard for Building 850-Foot Drone Ships

This facility is designed to produce both crewed and uncrewed vessels up to 850 feet in length. In elaborating the vision for Port Alpha, company officials stated that it aims to be the Western Hemisphere’s largest shipyard. They intend to cater to the diverse needs of the Navy and Coast Guard by producing a variety of vessel types, including Panamax-sized cargo ships and military craft. According to Saronic, the project is projected to generate more than 0 billion in economic impact for Cameron County and an estimated 4.5 billion for Texas overall, while creating up to 10,000 direct jobs.
