SNL Announces Inde Navarrette, Jalen Brunson, Dakota Johnson Among Season 52 Hosts

NBC’s iconic sketch comedy program, “Saturday Night Live” (SNL), is set to commence its 52nd season, a milestone that promises an impressive lineup of hosts and musical performances. The season opener, airing on September 26, will star Jalen Brunson, celebrated for leading the New York Knicks to an NBA Championship—the franchise’s first in 53 years. Joining him will be Katseye, a prominent K-pop group making their inaugural appearance on the SNL stage.

Following the premiere, the October 3 episode will feature Dakota Johnson, known for her upcoming film “Verity,” along with the hardcore rock band Turnstile. This marks Johnson’s third hosting stint on SNL, while Turnstile debuts during their “Never Enough Tour Pt. 2.”

On October 10, Shane Gillis will return to host for the third time, accompanied by global music sensation Rosalía. Gillis recently achieved a Guinness World Record for the largest live stand-up audience, and he has also released the latest season of his Netflix series “Tires.” Rosalía, fresh off her Lux world tour, will be gracing SNL’s stage for the second time.

A highlight of this season is the Halloween episode on October 31, hosted by Inde Navarette, a breakout star from the horror film “Obsession.” She will be joined by musical guest Gracie Abrams, who recently released her album “Daughter From Hell.”

As the crew gears up for the new season, off-screen updates indicate a few notable departures. Chloe Fineman, a cast member since 2019, has exited the show after seven seasons. Additionally, Martin Herlihy, who transitioned from a cast member of Please Don’t Destroy to a writer in Season 51, has also departed.

Across the ocean, “Saturday Night Live UK” has announced its premiere plans for its second season, featuring an episode that showcases Jeff Goldblum as host and CMAT as the musical guest on September 12. The UK version aims to capture the same comedic essence, returning its full cast and a structured 12-episode run.

Reflecting on the achievements and challenges of its previous season, SNL has maintained a tradition of engaging notable figures both as hosts and musicians.
