The price of Spotify Premium is about to jump again in the US, marking its third price hike since 2023. Spotify announced that subscribers in the US, Estonia, and Latvia will be contacted about the updated pricing over the coming month.

Individual Premium plans in the US will increase from $11.99 to $12.99 by the next billing date. Student plans are also increasing from $5.99 to $6.99. Other plans will see a bigger hike, with Duo increasing from $16.99 to $18.99, and Family increasing from $19.99 to $21.99. These are US-specific increases, but users in Estonia and Latvia can see Spotify’s updated pricing by visiting the company’s website.

“Occasional updates to pricing across our markets reflect the value that Spotify delivers, enabling us to continue offering the best possible experience and benefit artists,” Spotify said in its announcement. In the email it’s sending to subscribers, Spotify justifies that it’s raising prices “to keep delivering a great experience.”

We knew that Spotify was planning to raise the price of Premium plans in the US before March 2026, but we didn’t know by how much until now. Spotify last increased US prices in June 2024, and in other regions in August 2025, with several AI-powered features and long-awaited lossless audio support having launched since then. This latest hike may come as a blow to anyone who remembers the 12 glorious years in which Spotify didn’t change its pricing at all.
