Onimusha: Way of the Sword for Switch gets resolution and frame rate details
Capcom has announced the upcoming release of “Onimusha: Way of the Sword” for the highly anticipated Switch 2, set to launch on September 25, 2026. This development underscores Capcom’s commitment to supporting the new gaming platform, promising an engaging experience for both new and returning players.
Recent details have emerged regarding the game’s performance metrics across different modes. In TV mode, “Onimusha: Way of the Sword” will boast a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, while in handheld mode, the resolution is slightly lower at 1600 x 900 pixels, both utilizing upscaling technology. The game will maintain a frame rate of 30 frames per second (fps), although players will have the option to adjust settings for a variable frame rate ranging between 30 and 40 fps. In contrast, other versions of the game are expected to support frame rates up to 60 fps, alongside a superior resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels.
In conjunction with the game’s announcement, pre-orders have begun on the Nintendo eShop. These pre-orders come with exclusive bonuses, including a Lion Dog charm and a unique appearance for the sword known as Sealed Curse. According to the eShop, the expected file size for “Onimusha: Way of the Sword” is approximately 34.1GB.
