Bovensiepen’s 05 GT: A Subtle Look with Impressive Power

Bovensiepen, the German automotive firm newly established by the family that founded Alpina, is poised to make a substantial impact in the luxury car market with its latest offering, the 05 GT. This high-performance estate car is set to begin deliveries in the fourth quarter of this year, with a starting price of €198,900 (approximately 0,700) according to a media source.

The 05 GT is built on the foundation of the BMW 5-Series Touring and features a striking design that subtly echoes the aesthetics of Alpina products, thanks in part to the influence of renowned car designer Frank Stephenson. The vehicle features new front and rear bumpers, custom side skirts, and a distinctive mesh grille showcasing the Bovensiepen emblem—a clear departure from the standard BMW look while maintaining a refined presence.

Among its most impressive attributes is the vehicle’s powertrain, which utilizes the same 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine found in the BMW M5. This robust setup typically delivers 718 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque, but Bovensiepen has optimized the configuration through a new air intake, a titanium Akrapovic exhaust system, and recalibrated software to extract 790 horsepower and an astonishing 811 lb-ft of torque. This enhancement allows the 05 GT to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in less than 3.6 seconds, reaching a top speed of 190 mph.

Additionally, the vehicle’s engineering includes adjustments to its suspension, notably with the introduction of new Eibach springs and modified support bearings to enhance handling dynamics. Notably, the 05 GT weighs in at 5,632 lbs, just slightly above the weight of the M5 Touring, highlighting its performance-focused design while maintaining a strong luxury appeal.

Inside the vehicle, the cabin reflects a commitment to quality and customization. It features re-trimmed seats made from Lavalina leather sourced from various European countries. Consumers will have the option to select from multiple leather colors, allowing for a personalized touch in a truly premium automotive experience.
