Limpopo expects light rain while other regions remain cloudy and cool to cold on Wednesday

The South African Weather Service has issued a forecast predicting partly cloudy and cool to cold conditions across the country, with light rain anticipated in certain areas, particularly in Limpopo.

In Gauteng, including the cities of Pretoria, Johannesburg, and Vereeniging, conditions are expected to be partly cloudy and cool. Temperatures in this region will range from a low of 6°C in Vereeniging to a high of 19°C in Pretoria.

Similarly, Mpumalanga is likely to experience cloudy weather in its eastern parts, with light rain expected along the escarpment and eastern Highveld. Morning frost may also occur in select locations. Temperature forecasts indicate highs of 19°C in Mbombela and 18°C in Emalahleni, while Standerton could see a low of just 3°C.

Limpopo, too, will see cloudy conditions in the east accompanied by light rain along the escarpment. The western parts of the province are expected to be warmer, with temperatures reaching as high as 26°C in Lephalale. Other cities, such as Polokwane and Tzaneen, will experience highs around 21°C.

Moving to North West, residents can look forward to fine and cool conditions, with an expectation of increased cloudiness later in the day. Cities like Mahikeng may see temperatures as low as 4°C but could rise to highs around 21°C.

In the Free State, partly cloudy weather in the morning will give way to fine conditions, although areas along the Lesotho border might experience colder temperatures, with Bloemfontein set to range between 4°C and 19°C.

The Northern Cape’s weather is expected to offer a mix of partly cloudy skies, especially in the south, along with fog patches. Upington has forecasted temperatures reaching 23°C.

Finally, the Western Cape should see partly cloudy to cloudy conditions, with morning fog particularly noticeable in the southern coastal areas. Cities such as Cape Town will likely experience temperatures between 11°C and 20°C.

For the Eastern Cape, the western half is poised for cloudy weather with fog patches, while the eastern areas will enjoy fine conditions. Meanwhile, KwaZulu-Natal is forecasting a mix of cloudiness, morning fog, and intermittent showers along the coast.

This weather forecast aligns with seasonal expectations, as the changing patterns indicate the shifting climate typical for this time of year across South Africa.
