The National Award-winning artist was discovered unconscious at his residence in Dona Paula, Goa, and despite immediate medical attention, he could not be revived. Reports indicate that medical personnel at Manipal Hospital administered 45 minutes of continuous CPR but were ultimately unsuccessful in their efforts to restore his life. A medicolegal case is currently being processed as an autopsy is conducted to determine the exact cause of his death.

In an official statement, Manipal Hospital expressed profound sorrow over Patekar’s demise. The hospital confirmed that he was brought to their emergency department following the unexpected health crisis but could not be saved despite urgent medical interventions. Surendra Prasad, the hospital’s director, conveyed condolences to the actor’s family, friends, and fans worldwide, marking this incident as a tragic loss for not just his loved ones but the broader artistic community.

Nana Patekar’s last rites are scheduled to take place at his farmhouse in Donje, located on the outskirts of Pune, Maharashtra. The remains are expected to arrive in Pune by late afternoon, allowing for a final viewing for admirers. The Maharashtra government has announced that he will receive a state funeral, reflecting the significant impact he had on Marathi and Hindi film industries, as stated by Ashish Shelar, Maharashtra’s Culture Minister.
