Jon Prosser addresses Apple lawsuit, shifts blame to opposing party
YouTuber Jon Prosser has filed a formal response to Apple’s lawsuit concerning allegations that he and another individual engaged in the theft of confidential iOS software secrets. In a recent filing, Prosser categorically denied any suggestions of conspiracy against Apple, expressing that he did not intend to harm the company’s interests. However, he acknowledged his involvement in recording a FaceTime call during which he observed unreleased iOS features and indicated that he shared portions of revenue from related YouTube videos with the individual who provided him with the leaked information.
Apple’s lawsuit, initiated in July, accused Prosser and co-defendant Michael Ramacciotti of orchestrating a scheme to infiltrate an Apple development device to pilfer trade secrets relating to iOS. According to Apple, Ramacciotti demonstrated software features from a proprietary iPhone owned by an Apple employee during a FaceTime interaction with Prosser. Over a span of several months in 2025, Prosser published three videos on his Front Page Tech YouTube channel detailing aspects of a forthcoming iOS version, which bore resemblance to features unveiled at the annual WWDC event as part of iOS 26.
In his response, Prosser countered multiple claims laid out in Apple’s initial filing. He contested the assertion that he and Ramacciotti conspired to access proprietary information, maintaining that he had no awareness of Ramacciotti’s financial difficulties during their communications. Prosser admitted to participating in the FaceTime call where he saw certain iOS features but asserted that he did not know if this information was classified as unreleased at the time of the call.
Moreover, Prosser refuted claims that he assisted or incentivized Ramacciotti prior to the FaceTime call, clarifying that he only shared advertising revenue from the videos post-publication in order to keep the lines of communication open. He also emphasized that he ceased contact with Ramacciotti upon learning of how the confidential information had been obtained.
As the legal proceedings continue, Prosser has requested a jury trial for all issues deemed suitable for such a process. Despite the gravity of the allegations, Apple has refrained from commenting on the ongoing litigation, upholding a policy of not discussing active legal matters.
